Water Trampoline & Bouncer FAQ

Once you have an anchor and connection line positioned, it takes about 30 minutes to set up the Rave Aqua Jump. You only need to inflate the tube and attach the springs and jump surface. An Aquaglide Supertramp or Ricochet will take a bit longer as you must attach the metal bars to the inflated tube. A bouncer can be set up in about 15 to 20 minutes. It takes about 5-10 minutes to inflate each of the attachments, and another 5 to 10 minutes to attach them properly to your water trampoline or bounce platform.

We highly recommend using a High Speed Inflator. With this inflator, it only takes about 10 to 20 minutes to inflate your water trampoline, depending on the tube size. Using the exhaust side of a good quality shop vacuum is also an effective way of swiftly inflating the tube. An inflation adaptor may be supplied with the water trampoline or can be purchased separately to allow you to connect to most shop vacuums.

We do not recommend the use of an air compressor as over-inflation can damage the tube. Water trampolines are fully inflated with only 2 PSI or less of air pressure. The high pressure output of most air compressors can easily cause over-inflation. Also, there is no easy way to connect an air compressor to the valve on a water trampoline.

You should use the High Speed Inflator/Deflator or a shop vacuum, to swiftly deflate the tube.

The tube material used by Rave and Aquaglide is the same high- grade material used in many inflatable boats; fabric reinforced, heavy gauge, UV treated, mildew resistant PVC. All seams are heat or RF welded for maximum strength and doubled at key stress points. Natural rubber or natural rubber latex are not used in any of our products.

Yes, water trampolines can be used in the ocean and other salt water locations. The PVC tube is UV treated. The springs and metal tubes are made from heavy gauge, coated steel. Because of the salt water environment, springs may need to be replaced more frequently.

The tube will retain its brilliance for a few years as UV inhibitors are blended into the chemistry of the PVC material. We recommend regular application of a PVC Protectant as a secondary topical agent (like sunscreen for your skin) to prevent fading and degradation. PVC protectant also restores lost color and luster, making your trampoline look like new.

Most people leave their water trampoline in the water for the season. There are two things to consider: 1) your local regulations regarding anchoring and 2) if the area is consistently exposed to high winds.

You should anchor your water trampoline in at least 10 feet of water in an area at least 30 feet from any docks, boats or other obstructions. You should anchor your bouncer in at least 8 feet of water in an area at least 15 feet from any docks, boats or other obstructions.

You should enlist two or three people to help you lift and carry the smaller water trampolines from land to water, and four to five people for the largest water trampoline. DO NOT DRAG. When deflated, a water trampoline will fit in a pickup truck, minivan or SUV. Manufacturers don’t recommend towing the water trampoline on the water.

No, they should be used in the water only.

A water trampoline won’t perform exactly like a land trampoline because the water and inflated tube absorb some of the bounce. You will though get good bounce height. A bouncer will not give you the height that a water trampoline will provide as it does not have springs. Check out the videos on this site to get an idea of what to expect. The bounce height also depends on the firmness of tube inflation. The tube should be inflated to about basketball hardness.

The trampoline surface is designed so you won’t hit the water below, even with really big bounces. Some water may splash up, however, from the wave action caused by the tube.

The size of the water trampoline is not related to the bounce height.

You can locate a leak in an inflated product by spraying the tube with soapy water. When you find the leak and determine the hole size, use a patch from a repair kit and cut a swatch 1 inch wider than the hole. Deflate the product and clean the area around the hole with rubbing alcohol. Apply glue from the repair kit to the patch and the area around the hole. Let the glue dry approximately 2 minutes until it becomes tacky. Stick the glued parts to each other and rub them together using a hard, smooth, flat surface. Let the patch dry for at least 24 hours before inflating.

To store a water trampoline, you should first clean the entire inflatable with soap and water or other mild cleansers. Special PVC cleaners are available for stain removal. Do not use petroleum based or vegetable oil based cleaners. After the tube dries, apply UV protectant, let dry and deflate the tube. Fold and roll the tube loosely and place in a container. A large plastic storage container works well to store the tube and keep it safe from rodents.

Water trampolines should not sink if the tube is punctured. Enough air accumulates in the tube to keep the trampoline components afloat. A single air chamber also provides even distribution of the air around the full perimeter of the product, even if air pressure gets low.

Rodents like muskrats may be attracted to the PVC. When your tube is on the water, maintaining full air pressure during periods of non-use usually prevents them from being able to get hold of the vinyl to chew on it. In the winter, the tube should be stored in a container with a sealed lid that will keep rodents out. Pack with dryer sheets which mice seem to hate.
